You may have been directed by us or your hosting provider to update your incoming and outgoing email server settings. This guide walks you through how to do this in Windows Mail on desktop for an existing account that has already been added to Windows Mail.
Guide
Step 1. In the list on the left, right click on the account and select "Account settings" from the dropdown:
Step 2. A pop-up will appear. Click on "Change mailbox sync settings":
Step 3. A new pop-up page will show. Scroll down and click on "Advanced mailbox settings":
Step 4. You can now update the email incoming email server hostname. In this example screenshot, the field contains "ixion.uksrv.co.uk:993:1". It's important that you keep the numbers and symbols, and only change the domain. So, if you want your new hostname to be "mail.parrotcreative.co.uk", this field will need to contain "mail.parrotcreative.co.uk:993:1":
Step 5. Do the same for the outgoing email server, which is the field below the incoming email server. In this example screenshot, the field contains "ixion.uksrv.co.uk:465:1". It's important that you keep the numbers and symbols, and only change the domain. So, if you want your new hostname to be "mail.parrotcreative.co.uk", this field will need to contain "mail.parrotcreative.co.uk:465:1":
Step 6. Click "Done" to save the settings.
